Brandy production in the Juzbašić family has been going on for an entire century, and we decided to engage in more serious or professional production after extremely good results achieved at numerous fairs, exhibitions and evaluations of the quality of fruit brandies and liqueurs. Multiple gold-awarded plum wines as well as fruit liqueurs made in the old-fashioned way and according to an old recipe certainly go in favor of confirming the quality of these products.
The whole concept of the production of fruit brandies and liqueurs was conceived as part of the Juzbašić Agrotourism project “Matkova pecara”, which takes place on the old farm of a family house with outbuildings. The old family house is arranged in such a way that it can provide overnight services, i.e. accommodation with eleven beds in four rooms, while the commercial buildings are arranged and designed for the production and processing of fruit brandies and liqueurs, which includes a tasting room, which is also arranged in the old traditional style. All economic buildings are registered as excise warehouses, which means that they can be used for the legal production of alcohol and alcoholic beverages, and everything is in compliance with the law.
We offer plum brandy, quince brandy, pear brandy, cherry, quince and walnut fruit liqueurs. In addition to brandy and liqueurs, in the tasting room, which is decorated in an antique style, you can taste homemade Slavonian cured meat products and cakes.
We performed with our brandies and liqueurs at numerous fairs, from PHS Proizvodi hrvatskog sela in Zagreb, Jesen in Lika, Eko-Ethno, Slavin, Osječki sajam, and the always notable performance at the National Exhibition of Fruit Brandies and Liqueurs in Vinkovci. Each such performance is usually accompanied by a medal, so it is worth mentioning that as a Family-run farm, we won gold medals on several occasions, mainly for šljivovica.
By visiting the farm, you can get to know how people used to live and work in typical šokak houses and show the entire sequence of technology, i.e. the way of production of traditional Slavonska šljivovice.
