Croatia is a country with rich hunting tradition, and the Spačva Forest is an attractive hunting area for a variety of game. Between the Danube and the Sava, the Spačva open hunting ground with an area of 20.018 hectares is located, where hunters are welcome guests. The hunting ground is an ideal habitat for deer, roe deer, wild boar and game birds. Winter hunting of wild boars is a particularly attractive type of hunting for many hunters, as well as deer stalking in the Roar season. Hunters can be accommodated in the Spačva Hunting Lodge.
The locals like to spend their free time in the forest – on the rivers that criss-cross the largest continuous complex of the pedunculate oak in Croatia. Anglers who visit the Tourist Board of the Spačva Forest Area will also find peace and rest on the banks of the Bosut, Spačva, Virovi, Brežnica, Lubanj and Studva rivers. If you cast your rods from those banks, you might come face to face with the common carp, the pike-perch, the catfish and the northern pike.
For a daily angling license, it is necessary to contact one of the angling companies operating in this area: Š.R.D. Virovi, Š.R.U. Starovirac or Š.R.D. Brežnica. An angling license for children under 14 is free of charge.
